THE RaTTAToT TOUR
(Ramsay's Terrific Tag-a-long Adventure Tour of Tasmania)
For 12 November 2001
Report by André and Julia
More rain required sportie roofs to stay up all day. The
men made a visit to Lou Mondello's famous workshop and were
welcomed with coffee and Lou's usual helpfulness with last
minute adjustments. Nan was particularly happy to drop off
Phil Egan's 'head' which she gleefully told us all she had
had between her legs all the way from Sydney ! The ladies
searched the local Direct Factory Outlet for bargains to squeeze
in any remaining luggage gaps.
Boarding the "Spirit of Tasmania" ferry, we met
up with Steve (who has suffered a flat tyre en-route) and
in doing so picked up our 13th and final Sportie. Torsten
and Jacqueline waved us goodbye. The trip across Bass strait
was very calm and all the members said they slept well. We
are still trying to locate those members about whom a female
passenger complained were "smoking pot and enticing young
girls to their rooms". Actually it didn't seem so funny
there for a while, but fortunately Haydn located the real
culprits and cleared the Club's name. After this incident
we renamed our contingent the 'Victorian Hotels Association'
to anyone who asked. The only one of our members who needed
restraining was Sylvia who seemed to have some rather strong
hormonal urges towards a 'real spunk' (her words) of a waiter.
Sorry Sylvia, he was old enough to be your grand-child !!
